What is Lamden? It is three new development tools – Saffron, Flora and Clove – their aim is to ease the process for businesses to adopt blockchain technology. Lamden will allow a lower barrier of entry and spur more innovation in the blockchain space.
- Saffron – a blockchain-generator that allows businesses and developers to create and deploy private blockchains quickly and efficiently.
- Flora – a decentralized package manager of commonly used code to significantly reduce development time.
- Clove – a decentralized application that makes atomic swaps between chains easy and it’s protocol is compatible with most Bitcoin-based and Ethereum-based chains, including ERC20 tokens.
We need to reemphasize what this means – you can build your own blockchain in 15 minutes! Yes, only 15 minutes. Also, by using the Lamden suite of tools you enable interoperability between previously non communicative blockchains – Atomic Swaps.
Markets – Launched in Q4 2017 it is already available on several exchanges such as HitBTC, IDEX and ForkDelta being the highest in volume. None the less, we are sure you will be seeing this hitting more popular exchanges in the future.
Social Media – The rate at which the Telegram, Twitter and Reddit following is increasing, is something to make you sit up and take notice of. The community is friendly, knowledgeable and the team is always there to answer questions.
The Team – The Lamden team is headed up by Stuart Farmer who created his own coding language at the age of twelve. The skills that this individual portrays is one of an undervalued Vitalik Buterin! However, he is also backed by a robust team of developers to share the workload. We are also expecting to see the team expand as the project unravels.
Competitors – In the decentralised application space, there are several companies competing for Ethereum’s market share, such as: Ark, AION, ICON, Wanchain, Lisk, EOS and DragonChain. Lamden outshines the herd by offering 10,000 transactions per second, interchain support, atomic swaps, developer tools and DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) & BFT (Byzantine fault tolerance) consensus.
What’s next for Lamden? Lamdex – a decentralized token swap where the participants keep the fees. This is the eagerly awaited next stop on it’s roadmap that will begin to solidify this project within the community. Alongside this we are expecting to shortly see news and updates regarding masternodes, partnerships and real-life use cases once the mainnet is implemented in Q3 2018.
